Results of complex ground-based and rocket experiments at determination of electron collision frequency and electron density profiles at heights 80+500 km obtained from geophysical rockets of vertical series according to Intercosmos program
Abstract
Complex measurements of the electron density and collision frequency were carried out at solar zenith angles 69 deg and 67 deg in July and September, 1975, at middle latitudes of the European part of the USSR. The density was measured by the dispersion interferometer method based on a rocket of the vertical series (including Vertical-3 according to the Intercosmos program). Simultaneously vertical sound and polarization measurements of the radiowave absorption at ten frequencies were also performed. The profiles of the electron collision frequency were determined as a result of the joint processing of the ground-based and rocket data. Comparison of results of measurements with theoretical profiles is presented.
