Experience in the area of device technology concerning an employment of optical radar
Abstract
An optical radar system manufactured by an English firm and installed in a building at a height of 60 m in the center of the city of Duisburg in West Germany is considered. The optical radar system consists of the laser transmitter, the receiver, and the data processing equipment. Details of equipment design are discussed along with the results of operational studies and approaches used to overcome certain difficulties first observed in the operation of the device.
