Fundamentals of flight theory and elements of designing satellites /2nd revised and enlarged edition/
Abstract
The principal concepts of unperturbed (Keplerian) satellite motion are outlined, and the influence on satellite motion of such perturbing factors as launching errors, off-center gravitational fields, air resistance, gravitational anomalies, solar and lunar attraction, and light pressure is examined. Methods currently used to determine satellite orbits from measurement data are described, and problems associated with the orbiting and deorbiting of satellites are discussed. The need for selecting optimal structural and ballistic parameters in spacecraft design is emphasized.
