Asymmetry in isobaric analogue resonances in the 75As(p,n) reaction
Abstract
The excitation function for 75As(p,n) has been measured at proton energies between 2.00 and 5.00 MeV. Resonances were observed and strong asymmetries were observed in the peaks at Ep = 4.47 and 4.58 MeV. These asymmetric resonant peaks were analysed using the Kim-Robinson formula for a (p,n) reaction involving isobaric analogue resonances. With the assumption of a statistical model and random phases, the absolute cross section is obtained. The asymmetry parameters are found to be Δ = -158 keV for Ep = 4.47 and Δ = -82 keV for Ep = 4.58 MeV.
