Vortex Excitations in Light α Cluster Condensed Nuclei
Abstract
Vortex excitations arise in systems with infinite number of bosons condensed. Even in systems with finite number ( ∼ 105 ) of atomic bosons condensed the excitations have been observed. We point out that in system with smaller dynamical degrees of freedoms like finite nuclei there exist such vortex-like excitations. The nuclei are α cluster condensed nuclei. We show that the vortex-like excitations possess quantum numbers JP = n(-1)n and energies ∼ several MeV, measured from the energies of the nα condensed states.
