Λ polarization in unpolarized hadron collisions
Abstract
The fragmentation function of an unpolarized quark into a noncollinear hadron may depend on the hadron spin and transverse momentum, k⊥. The data on the polarization of Λ,Λ baryons inclusively produced in unpolarized p-N processes are used to determine a simple phenomenological expression for this new ``polarizing fragmentation function'', which describes remarkably well the experiments. More details can be found in the paper hep-ph//0008186 (Phys. Rev. D, in press), and in the talk by M. Anselmino in these Proceedings. .
