Multi-wavelength observations revealing the outbursts of the two soft X-ray transients XTE J1859+226 and XTE J1118+480

I will present some results from recent and intensive observing multi wavelength campaigns, on two soft X-ray transients: XTE J1859+226 and XTE J1118+480. These campaigns allowed a broad band coverage of these sources, with observations from X-rays to radio, with RXTE, HST, UKIRT and many other telescopes. Photometric, spectroscopic and time-serie observations in the X-rays, extreme UV, UV, optical, near-infrared and radio examined the ourburst and decline of these sources towards their quiescent state. Simultaneous and contemporaneous RXTE/EUVE/HST/UKIRT observations examined the evolution of their spectral energy distribution.
