Modeling of non-equilibrium effects in intermittency region between two phases
Abstract
Equilibrium and non-equilibrium states of the intermittency region are identified. It is described, how coalescence starting at a molecular level is predicted by the macroscopic, sharp interface model. The non-equilibrium effects are introduced into numerical solution of the intermittency region evolution equation. Application of the newly introduced modeling approach in the framework of one-fluid model of two-phase flow is suggested.
