GRB 240825A: ALMA detection
Abstract
"We observed GRB 240825A (Gupta et al., GCN 37274) with the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA) at 97.5 GHz beginning on 2024 August 27 03:22 UT (35.5 h after the burst). ALMA observations of this burst were delayed due to uninterruptible scheduled Cycle 11 software validation at the Observatory. Preliminary analysis reveals a mm source with flux density of ~ 0.3 mJy at position: RA (J2000) = 22:58:17.27 Dec (J2000) = +01:01:36.73 with uncertainty ~ 0.07" in each coordinate, consistent with the X-ray position (Evans et al., GCN 37290) and optical position (Gupta et al., GCN 37274; Jiang et al., GCN 37275; Dutton et al., GCN 37276; Odeh et al., GCN 37277; Li et al., GCN 37280; Leonini et al., GCN 37291; Kuin et al., GCN 37296). Further observations are planned. We thank the JAO staff, AoD, P2G, and the entire ALMA team for their help with these observations."
