On the Stark Broadening of Ga II Spectral Lines - 4d-nf Spectral Series
Abstract
Using the Semiclassical perturbation method, Stark broadening parameters, widths and shifts, have been calculated for six Ga II multiplets, belonging to the 4d--nf (n=4,5,6) spectral series. The calculations have been performed for temperatures from 5 000 K to 100 000 K and an electron density of 1016 cm-3. The obtained results have been used to investigate regularities within spectral series. The obtained data are especially useful in astrophysics, for analyzis and synthezis of stellar spectra and modelling of atmospheres, but also for laboratory and laser produced plasmas.
