Sensing CME Magnetic Fields En Route to 1 AU

The central argument of this white paper is that a focus on future CME research should be on improving our ability to observe CME magnetic fields and monitor their evolution from the Sun and into interplanetary space. Field diagnostics discussed include polarimetric measurements in the corona, radio Faraday rotation observations near and far from the Sun, and spacecraft magnetometer data.
