Latest Results from the SOFIA Massive (SOMA) Star Formation Survey
Abstract
The SOFIA Massive (SOMA) Star Formation Survey has used the FORCAST instrument to image >50 massive protostars at FIR wavelengths from 7 to 37 microns. These images help to trace warm dust in and around protostellar outflow cavities and provide important constraints on spectral energy distributions. Together, these data help constrain protostellar properties and test theoretical models of massive star formation. Substantial follow-up observations have also been carried out on the sample, especially with HST, ALMA and VLA. I give a brief overview of the latest results from the SOMA survey and discuss future directions.
