Teacher Roles within NITARP; a 13-month Research Collaboration
Abstract
The 2022 NITARP team of Luisa Rebull, consisting of seven students and five teachers, examined the literature and data concerning low mass, young stellar objects near AFGL 490, a high mass star with surrounding dust in Cam OB-1.
The benefits for both students and teachers were extensive; including learning astrophysics, participating in real world science, analyzing data, and getting a glimpse into the world of professional astronomy. This poster will highlight the ways in which the teachers and their students brought this experience back to their communities. This research was made possible through the NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Program (NITARP) and was funded by the NASA Astrophysics Data Program.- Publication:
