Search for Close Stellar Encounters with the Solar System Based on Data from the Gaia DR3 Catalogue
Abstract
We have searched for close stellar encounters with the Solar System using data from the Gaia DR3 catalogue. We have considered 31 stars with an encounter parameter $d_min<1$ pc. Among them 15 stars act as candidates for close encounters for the first time. The status of the stars GJ 710 and HD 7977 as candidates for deep penetration into the inner Oort cloud has been confirmed. In particular, we have obtained the following estimates of the encounter parameters for GJ 710 and HD 7977, respectively: $t_min=1.324± 0.026$ Myr and $d_min=0.052± 0.002$ pc, $t_min={-}2.830± 0.025$ Myr and $d_min=0.071± 0.027$ pc. Of greatest interest among the newly revealed candidates is the white dwarf WD 0810-353 for which the following encounter parameters have been found: $t_min=0.029± 0.001$ Myr and $d_min=0.150± 0.003$ pc.
