Pre-rise activity in the Ibn supernova 2022pda
Abstract
Here we report the spectroscopic and photometric follow-up of SN2022pda. Spectroscopic observations were performed on MJDs 59847.37 (2022-09-25 08:57:28 UTC) with SNIFS on the University of Hawaii 2.2-meter Telescope (UH88) revealing probable He I features in emission. Photometric observations were performed by Pan-STARRS and ATLAS between MJD 59769 (2022-07-09) and MJD 59846 (2022-09-24) revealing ~70 days of activity before a sharp rise in brightness. The spectrum resembles some Ibn supernovae, and the pre-rise activity shares similarities to a particular Ibn event SN2006jc. Further follow-up is strongly encouraged.
