Exploring the influences of different processes of habitat fragmentation on ecosystem services
Abstract
Three basic habitat fragmentation processes and variations in four ecosystem services (ESs) were quantified. Habitat fragmentation had linear or nonlinear effects on variations in ESs. Variations in four ESs were differently related to habitat fragmentation processes. The decrease in habitat proportion was the most important factor affecting ESs. Combining the nonlinear effect of habitat fragmentation is vital for ES management.
