New horizontal and vertical field coils with optimised location for robust decentralized plasma position control in the IGNITOR tokamak
Abstract
Poloidal system of IGNITOR tokamak was improved by introducing two new coils: HFC and VFC Location of HFC was optimized to achieve the maximal controllability region in vertical direction Location of VFC was optimized to achieve maximal plasma position response to voltage step function New robust decentralized plasma position control systems were designed for improved poloidal system New control systems were simulated with thyristor rectifiers and voltage inverters in PWM mode as actuators
