X-ray investigation of the X-ray source 1RXS J121902.7-630910 with Suzaku
Abstract
We present a study of the unidentified X-ray source 1RXS J121902.7-630910 based on Suzaku X-ray Imaging Spectrometer observation. We aim at clarifying the nature of the emission from 1RXS J121902.7-630910. We found that the spectrum is well represented by a thermal plasma model with an electron temperature of kTe ∼ 3.7 keV, the upper limit of ionization time-scale of τ ∼ 5.6 × 1010 cm-3 s, and the absorbing column density of NH ∼ 0.5 × 1021 cm-2. We investigated the possible origin of 1RXS J121902.7-630910, and found optical counterpart candidates to this X-ray source. We conclude that it could be a point-like source compared to the analysis results of an extended source, and observations at other wavelengths are needed to confirm its nature.
