Effect on TEC and Horizontal Component of Earth's Magnetic Field due to Super Intense Geomagnetic Storms
Abstract
In this study we have studied the effect on TEC and horizontal component of the Earth's magnetic field during super intense geomagnetic storm on 2003 November 20 and 2004 November 8. The data for TEC is taken from GPS station CAND (latitude 35.930 and longitude -120.430) and AGMT (latitude 34.590 and longitude -116.420) which are located at mid latitude. The study shows that variation in TEC and Horizontal component of the Earth's magnetic field during the main phase of geomagnetic storm. Also, there is positive correlation between GPS TEC and horizontal component of Earth's magnetic field.
