H3S at Justice in Geoscience Chapman Conference: Thoughts reflections and resources

The second Justice in Geoscience Chapman conference took place at the AGU headquarters in Washington D.C. in August. Zoe Kanavas and Deon Knights represented H3S at the event and present here resources and talking points from the trip. We highlight our thoughts on the format of the Chapman conference and the resources learned. We discuss findings from workshops, and reading groups including sessions on finding space and recognition for DEI work as a graduate student; how to integrate policy with our science; and addressing minority demographics in geoscience through time. We hope to use our experience at the Chapman conference to share resources and facilitate discussions to make a more just geoscience community.
