Tropical Impact crater diameters elaborated with PlanetScope stereo retrievals and ICESat-2 data tracks
Abstract
Commercial satellite elevation retrievals are routinely provided for many areas on the Earth surface at the 2 m scale but can be lacking from cloudy, tropical areas. We have produced elevation retrievals from PlanetScope data using the multi-temporal nature of Planet Dove data to overcome cloudy tropical conditions for the Pantasma impact crater in Nicaragua. We compliment our PlanetScope elevation retrieval with ICESat-2 tracks to clearly delineate the actual diameter of the Pantasma impact feature.
