Multiwavelength Observations of Compact Objects with AstroSat
Abstract
The Indian multi-wavelength astronomy space mission AstroSat is observing cosmic sources in the near and far UV, soft and hard X-ray bands simultaneously. Achieving the primary goal of the mission i.e., multi-wavelength study of cosmic sources has required careful spectral and timing calibration and cross-calibration. AstroSat is providing new insights into the multiwavelength nature of compact objects. This talk will present UV/X-ray spectral and timing results on compact objects such as the super-soft X-ray sources, X-ray binaries and active galactic nuclei, and demonstrate the multiwavelength capability of AstroSat.
