Magnetic Parameters of Rare-Earth Chromium Borate under High Temperatures
Abstract
The Faraday effect is used to measure the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility in the temperature range from 300 to 1200 K of rare-earth chromium borates, such as NdCr3(BO3)4, SmCr3(BO3)4 and LuCr3(BO3)4. It is found that this temperature dependence follows the Curie–Weiss law in each phase. The obtained Curie and Neel temperatures as well as magnetic moments match the formula unit of borate crystals.
