Genome-wide RAD sequencing resolves the evolutionary history of serrate leaf Juniperus and reveals discordance with chloroplast phylogeny
Abstract
Serrate junipers are ecologically significant trees of western North America. RADseq data produced strongly resolved phylogeny for North American serrate junipers. Comparison of RADseq and cp phylogenies revealed cases of strong discordance. Serrate junipers originated in Oligocene and diversified rapidly in the late Miocene.
