Pre-aperture slewing mirror with pointing area of 50 ° ×120 ° for 30 cm aperture telescope for the system of observation of day time asteroids (SODA project)
Abstract
We propose a conceptual design of a controlled pre-aperture mirror for the fast repositioning of a wide field telescope with a field of view of 3.75 ° and an aperture of 30 cm for a space system to detect decameter sized asteroids (the SODA project). The pointing area is 50 ° × 120 ° and the repointing time between the adjacent fields is less than 3 seconds. Similar systems, equipped with a pre-aperture mirror, from different Russian and foreign projects have been considered, as well as recommendations on the use of a controlled mirror in the SODA project.
