Model spatial input scale effects on a watershed runoff-erosion modelling
Abstract
Hydro-meteorological forcings and initial conditions are the primary inputs to drive a hydrological model. The DEM, soils and land-use are the primary inputs to build a watershed hydrological model. Even for the same set of runoff generation and erosion processes a model functions differently with differing spatial input, building blocks and driving forces, scales. This study analyzed this inherent scale dependent characteristic of numerical models in the semi-arid wildfire affected watersheds, in southern California.
