A Common Proper-motion Companion to the Herbig Be Star HD 259431
Abstract
We report on new measurements with the SPHERE instrument on the VLT of a companion 3"117 N (PA = 345°3) of the Herbig Be star HD 259431 (MWC 147). Comparison with previous literature measurements shows the companion to have a common proper motion with HD 259431. It is likely a 1.2 M⊙ young star surrounded by a disk.
