Tuning the band structures and electromagnetic density of modes in fused Silica slab by acoustic waves
Abstract
Acoustically perturbed Silica behaves as one dimensional photonics crystal. The change in refractive index is sinusoidal due to propagation of acoustic waves. Density of mode is dynamically tuned by varying parameters of acoustic waves. Photonic band gap shifts with change in incident angle of electromagnetic waves. Photonic crystal can be reconfigured by changing the acoustic frequency.
