Learning a Planet's Deep Interior Secrets from Its External Gravity Field: A New Approach for Empirical Planet Modeling
Abstract
We describe an approach to limit the assumptions necessary when using gravity data to infer a giant planet's interior structure. We illustrate the power and limitations of this approach with case studies of solar system planets.
