A new species of Procercopidae (Insecta: Hemiptera) from the Lower Cretaceous of Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Abstract
A new fossil species, Stellularis sinuijuensis sp. nov. (Procercopidae) is described. New specimens were collected from the Lower Cretaceous nonmarine sedimentary strata from the Sinuiju Formation of DPRK. The remarkable new Procercopid distinctly differs from Stellularis longirostris Chen, Yao et Ren, 2015in having a tegmen with CuA1 3 times as long as CuA2, crossvein ir distal to crossvein r-m and crossvein m-cua at level of crossvein ir, and having a hind wing with apical margins lobate and CuP curved anteriorly, terminating at running to margin. The well preserved materials reveal fine details of the tegmen and hindwing.
