Omps for JPSS-2
Abstract
The Ozone Mapping and Profiler Suite (OMPS) is ready for launch on JPSS2. OMPS aims to continue the ozone mapping and trend analysis in support of the Montreal Protocol. The sensor work supporting this goal includes improvements to reduce stray light effects, continuation and improvements to the complete ground calibrations, and operations flexibility to allow on-orbit alterations to support future science. With the inclusion of the fully qualified Limb sensor (absent for JPSS1) and its dedicated aerosol channel, the OMPS is back to high resolution Limb profiling as well as the daily global mapping supplied by the Nadir sensor. We present the sensor ground test results and expected performance of the OMPS on JPSS2.
