Combining national and state data improves predictions of microcystin concentration
Abstract
Mean microcystin concentration is directly proportional to cyanobacterial biovolume at high levels of cyanobacteria. Model for microcystin incorporates known functional relationships linking chlorophyll a, cyanobacteria biovolume, and microcystin. Combining datasets collected at national and state spatial scales yields predictions that leverage the advantages of the two different datasets.
