Statistics of Current Sheets at Lunar Distance
Abstract
A statistical analysis of current sheet properties in the magnetotail at lunar distance is performed using observation from the Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence, and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun mission. We visually select 128 complete current sheet crossing events from June 2016 to June 2017. For each event, Minimum variance analysis is used to obtain the local coordinate system and characteristic parameters density, velocity, temperature, anisotropy are calculated for the center region
