Monitoring of the Temporal and Spatial Variation of Groundwater Storage based on the Regional CORS Network
Abstract
Groundwater is an important water source for agricultural irrigation, industry and domestic water. The variation of groundwater storage can be calculated using the measured water level of groundwater monitoring wells, hydrology methods and GRACE data. In this study, we determine the temporal and spatial variation of groundwater storage using loading deformation and gravitational field theory based on the regional CORS network. The results were compared with the water level of groundwater monitoring wells and the result of the GRACE method. Our study suggests that it is possible to calculate the temporal and spatial variation of groundwater storage based on the continuous observation data of CORS, and could get a high resolution.
