Aerosol Optical Characteristics Retrieved from CIMEL Sun Photometer Measurements (AERONET) over Urban Area of Medellín, Colombia.
Abstract
Measurements with a CIMEL CE 318 sun photometer over urban área of Medellín city within the AERONET international monitoring network are analyzed. Typical regional aerosol optical parameters (aerosol optical depth, Angstrom exponent, and water vapor) and their variations are determined. AERONET data accumulated from 2013 in Medellín city, allow one to analyze typical optical aerosol characteristics of the region, as well as estimate the scale of their variations and trends in the observable temporal variability, related to the contingencies of air quality in this urban area.
