Finite element method in stability problem for stellar disc
Abstract
Matrix methods for calculating unstable global modes are the powerful tool for studying the stability of stellar systems. In this paper, we propose a new matrix formulation for stellar discs based on the finite element method in a two-dimensional action space. A solution of the test problem is given.
