Hydrogen-rich ultra-compact cataclysmic variables?
Abstract
Evolution of cataclysmic variables obeying angular momentum loss law suggested by Knigge et al. (2011) has been studied. Expected number of cataclysmic variables reduces, compared to the "standard" (Rappaport et al. 1983) formalism. It is shown that there should exist a population of cataclysmic variables with P orb . 70 min. and detectable surface abundances of hydrogen 3 · 10 -3 . X s . 0.4, distinct from AM CVn-type stars.
