Accretion onto fast-rotating white dwarfs
Abstract
We investigate the structure of the plasma flow onto fast rotating magnetized white dwarfs in close binary systems. We use as an example the AE Aquarii system where the spin period of the white dwarf is about 1 000 times shorter than the orbital period of the system. The results of 3D numerical simulations of the flaring activity in this system are presented.
