Flexible colour patterns obscure identification and mimicry in Indo-Pacific Chromodoris nudibranchs (Gastropoda: Chromodorididae)
Abstract
Comprehensive taxonomic and spatial coverage of 345 Chromodoris specimens from across the Indo-Pacific. Eighteen undescribed species, and depth and latitudinal range extensions in known species. Colour patterns are unreliable for species identification in this group. C. colemani and C. joshi mimic congenerics on a regional scale. Poorly resolved phylogeny indicates a recent radiation.
