Exploring the Atmosphere of Jupiter with Ultraviolet Spectroscopy
Abstract
We have developed the tools to retrieve atmospheric densities of acetylene and ammonia in the atmosphere of the giant planets. Here, it is applied to Cassini observations of Jupiter. We show that the ultraviolet is an underused but rich wavelength region for the investigation of planetary atmospheres.
