High-resolution estimation of coastal flood risk
Abstract
Various hazards impacted by severe weather and climate (e.g., sea level rise, coastal flooding, heat stress, etc.) are placing an increasing burden on the public. Our research is focused on providing information about the risks of various hazards through an innovative computational pipeline incorporating different geophysical models, machine learning algorithms and tools from applied statistics. This presentation will focus on approaches for estimating the risk of coastal flooding at high-resolution, including the application of extreme value methods.
