Planetary Defense Mitigation Gateway
Abstract
Programs like NASA's Near-Earth Object (NEO) Survey supply the scientific community with the necessary information that is utilized during the mitigation decision-making process.
However, information about detecting, characterizing and mitigating NEO threats is still dispersed throughout different organizations and scientists, due to the lack of organizational leadership and structured architecture. This project is aimed to develop a framework to better integrate the different pieces of capabilities residing at different organizations across the globe. In addition, it will assist the development and integration of a NEO responding system, and provide more comprehensive knowledge for the scientific community and policymakers.- Publication:
