Lineage diversification of fringe-toed lizards (Phrynosomatidae: Uma notata complex) in the Colorado Desert: Delimiting species in the presence of gene flow
Abstract
Four species are delimited within the Uma notata complex. There is an undescribed species (U. sp.) from Mohawk Dunes, Arizona. The federally threatened species U. inornata is supported as distinct. Uma rufopunctata is treated as a hybrid population (U. notata×cowlesi). Pleistocene timing of speciation is supported within the complex.
