Drift kinetic Alfven waves in non-extensively distributed plasma
Abstract
By using the drift kinetic theory, the general dispersion relation of drift kinetic Alfven waves (DKAWs) is derived for the non-extensive distribution including the effect of wave-particle interaction. The stability analysis and the estimate of growth rate are presented owing to highlight the effect of non-extensivity parameter (q) to better fit the observational data. It is shown the universal instability of DKAWs is significantly reduced by the non-extensivity effect leading to minimize the overestimated growth rate and threshold condition by the previous studies of Maxwellian distribution. The poynting flux calculation is also presented in order to explain the particle acceleration and heating mechanism.
