Vertical Wind Measurements with K Doppler lidar at the Arecibo Observatory

We report Doppler lidar measurements with a vertical-looking high-spectral-resolution potassium lidar at the Arecibo Observatory. The lidar underwent a substantial upgrade between 2013 and 2015, including a new transmitter laser funded by an NSF MRI grant. This paper reports recent measurements that include real-time laser chirp measurement to offset the effects of the laser spectral accuracy on the wind measurements. The report includes presentation of wind measurement precision and preliminary results.
