Disk occultation and jet lines in the super-Eddington stellar-mass BH P13
Abstract
The ULX P13 is the first confirmed super-Eddington stellar-mass blackhole. It showed a dim state in 2011-2012, before returning to its brightstate. We suggest that in the dim state, the intrinsic X-ray emission wasocculted by the accretion disk, precessing with a superorbital periodof ~6 years. We predict that the disk will block our direct X-ray viewagain soon. We want to study the X-ray spectrum during the dim state, when we can see the emission from regions above and below the disk plane(corona, wind, jet). From spectra taken in the previous dim state, wehave evidence of a Doppler-shifted Fe line at 4.5 keV: we want to testthe significance of this line with a deeper XMM-Newton observation. Ifconfirmed, this would prove that P13 has a relativistic baryonic jetlike SS433.
