Lensing Calibration of the Evolution of Cluster Scaling Relations for eROSITA
Abstract
To use clusters for cosmology it is important to have a well-understood catalog and well-calibrated masses at different redshifts. Comparison between X-ray (Chandra), S-Z (Carma), and lensing (CFHT) masses spanning a wide range of redshifts is ideal to reduce the scatter of scaling relations (SRs) and probe their evolution with redshift, a necessity for cluster cosmology. We propose to determine robust X-ray observable SRs using the most massive (>5E14 Msun) clusters at z 0.5 chosen from the CODEX project (COnstraining Dark Energy with X-ray clusters). This sample will provide the most robust analysis of the evolution of SRs, allowing us to separate the different evolutionary scenarios at 99.95% confidence.
