Multi-Case Study of Kinetic Ballooning-Interchange Waves in the Plasma Sheet
Abstract
Using several THEMIS observations of plasma sheet oscillations with kinetic ballooning/interchange instability (BICI) signatures, we investigate the properties of the waves, and the background plasma sheet structure and dynamics with the help of adapted Tsyganenko models. We also show the ionospheric magnetic and auroral activity using conjugate ground observations.
