Simultaneous XMM-Newton and NuSTAR Observations of IGR J16318-4848
Abstract
We propose to observe the Compton-thick source IGR J16318-4848 with XMM-Newton simultaneously to our already approved NuSTAR science team observation. Our aim is to measure the first high signal to noise, high resolution broad band spectrum of this type of source. Our goal is to constrain the geometry of the absorber in the system further through broad-band spectroscopy, analysis of the Iron line, including the search for a Compton shoulder, and a measurement of the response of the iron line flux to continuum variations.
