Representation quality analysis on example of compression of 3D biomedical images
Abstract
The problem of formal criteria for image representations is considered. The inability of existing universal compression algorithms to take into account the specificity of subject area confirmed experimentally. A method for compressing biomedical images without losses based on geometric normalization (alignment) of images is suggested and discussed.
